Then, we speak to folks at Project Pride about the work they are doing. Project PRIDE is a sex-positive group program for young gay/bi/queer men who are HIV-negative or do not know their status. It focuses on equipping participants to successfully cope with and build resilience to anti-gay/bisexual discrimination. It was designed by a team of LGBTQ and ally researchers who know that big and small instances of discrimination can be stressful. These instances of discrimination can add to poor mental health and poor coping skills, such as substance abuse and risky sexual behaviors. The primary goals of Project PRIDE are to: Decrease HIV risk behaviors and to Increase mental well-being They also empower participants to develop positive gay/bisexual identities and increase pride. They hope you will join them in learning how to deal with the stresses of being gay or bi in today's society.
