Banning books in the Texas legislature -- Houston Pride Band hosts World Wide band concert

We speak with Ken McLeod, veteran psychotherapist in Houston and Anna Eastman, mother of a transgender child who was elected to the Board of Trustees of HISD in 2009, and selected as the 2015 Allied Grand Marshal of the Houston Pride Parade. We discuss State Rep. Matt Krause, a candidate for state attorney general, who has asked school superintendents to confirm whether any books on a list of 850 titles are in their libraries and classrooms.

Then we speak with the president of the Houston Pride Band, Jason Svatek. The Pride Band is entering its 44th Season and is hosting a World-Wide conference of Pride Bands in Houston, culminating in a concert entitled "Bigger and Brighter” Sunday evening November 21st at the Wortham Theater. Free outdoor performance at Discovery Green on Saturday November 20th.
